How to spray engine block paint metallic?

The VHT Engine Metallic is an engine block paint that you can easily spray with the step-by-step plan below. In 5 steps you spray the engine block metallic paint black in the right way for the desired effect.

  1. Remove any loose paint and rust. Clean the surface thoroughly by using a good degreaser.
  2. Spray the surface with primer. Use the VHT SP148 Primer spray can for this purpose.
  3. Shake the VHT Engine Metallic spray can well before use. Spray several coats of engine block paint until the desired coverage is achieved. Note, pause for 5 minutes between coats to allow the paint to evaporate properly.
  4. After the last coat, allow at least 24 hours for the paint to cure so it is completely dry. You can also "bake" it to allow it to cure more quickly. This can be done with a hair dryer or 60 minutes in a 90°C oven.
  5. We recommend only after 24 hours to load the sprayed surface against outside influences.
