How do I use the metal paint?

Rustoleum corrosion-resistant paint is easy to use without primer or primer. Use the step-by-step instructions below.

1. To determine if the color is suitable, test it in advance on an inconspicuous area. Cover surrounding surfaces to protect them from spray mist. Remove oil, grease and other surface contaminants with a suitable cleaning agent. Remove loose rust by scraping, brushing with a wire brush or sanding. Lightly sand surfaces that have already been painted. For non-ferrous metal and galvanized metal, first prime with Rust-Oleum Metal Expert special adhesion primer.
2. Shake the spray can until you hear the mixing ball, then keep shaking vigorously for one minute (also shake regularly during use).
3. From a distance of 30 cm, spray the paint evenly onto the surface with back and forth movements, so that the individual strips overlap slightly.
4. You achieve the best results if you always keep the can at the same distance from the surface while spraying and move it constantly.
5. Apply several thin coats and let them dry for a few minutes in between.
6. Dust dry after 30 minutes.
7. Cured after 24 hours.
8. Re-sprayable within 1 or after 24 hours.
9. After use, turn the spray can upside down and spray for 2 to 3 seconds to clean the nozzle.

Apply only at temperatures between 10 and 32 °C and at a relative humidity lower than 85 %. Be particularly careful when preparing wood or metal surfaces with coatings dating back to the 1960s. These surfaces may contain lead and be harmful to health. Never inhale dust when dry sanding. Wear an appropriate protective mask.
