PPG D8080 UV Primer Surfacer

D8080 UV Primer Surfacer is an advanced primer surfacer designed to help body shops reduce energy costs and increase throughput. PPG's new UV technology requires no intermediate drying between coats and can be cured in as little as 4 minutes under a UV lamp.

UV Primer surfacer

PPG's filler primer has excellent filling power. The primer surfacer is used to fill small bumps and imperfections in car paint. Such as pits, small scratches and dents. Thanks to the thicker consistency of a high-build primer, it has a higher filling capacity than a standard car primer. This results in a smoother surface that is ideal for applying the final coat of paint. Using this new UV-cured primer surfacer from PPG can significantly reduce the turnaround time of a vehicle repair with one application, resulting in greater productivity and profitability. In addition, the unique transparent property of the UV-cured primer surfacer provides full visibility of the repair under the primer, meaning the repair area is minimized. D8082 is also very easy to sand, minimizing extra work and providing further time savings for the body shop.

Auto primer

An auto primer is a primer, the first coat of paint applied after the surface has been sanded and prepared with putty. A car primer's main function is to adhere to the surface and create a solid base for the primer surfacer. The main difference between an auto primer and a primer surfacer lies in their filling properties. While an auto primer primarily acts as a bonding agent and corrosion protection, a primer surfacer focuses more on improving the aesthetics of the surface by smoothing and camouflaging minor imperfections.
