Pressure Spray Guns
Pressure Fed Spray Gun
Pressure spray guns are commonly used for applying coatings like latex paints, stains, sealers, top coats and lacquers to wood and steel.
Advantages Pressure Spray Gun
- Able to control fluid and air pressure separately
- Depending on the pot life, the coating can stay in the spray gun
- Better suited for high volume coating
- Able to spray any coating no matter the viscosity
Cons Pressure Spray Gun
- Requires a separate pressure tank
- Cleaning takes more time
- Extra hose can create more bulk
Spray Gun Nozzle Tip Size
Choosing the right spray gun nozzle might seem like a difficult job. However, you'll achieve the best results when you refer to the paint manufacturers technical data sheets for that particular product you're spraying.
A general rule of thumb is:
- 2K Car Spray Paint 1.3 to 1.4
- Clearcoat 1.2 to 1.4
- Primer 1.7 to 2.2
- Spray putty 2.5 to 3.0
Please keep in note that this is a general rule of thumb. Many car painters achieve outstanding results from unorthodox methods.
