  1. Pour a small amount of white spirit into a mixing cup or jar.
  2. Put your paintbrush in it and make sure the dirty bristles are in the turpentine.
  3. Let it soak thoroughly for several minutes.
  4. Press the brush against the sides and bottom so that the paint or varnish loosens from the bristles.
  5. After this, soak the paint brush in the turpentine for another two hours.
  6. Rinse with warm water and dry the brush with a clean, dry cloth.
