Masking

Masking materials for car painting

When spraying car paint, a cloud of paint is generated and deposited in areas near the surface. Car masking is a crucial step for car painting and car detailing because it ensures that car paint and overspray do not get on the wrong car parts. When masking cars or vehicles, dust particles and all other contaminants are eliminated. It is also possible to protect certain car parts or areas of high exposure to heat during the drying process of car spray paint. The main objective of masking cars is to protect certain areas that we do not want to paint.

In order to carry out this process, we offer a range of masking materials and tools to facilitate masking

  • Masking film with tape
  • Masking film
  • Paint protection film
  • Plastic sheet masking
  • Door foam film
  • Abrasion resistant film

Self adhesive masking film

Self adhesive masking film is the most commonly used masking film in the automotive industry. This masking film makes car painting easier, cleaner and faster. Self adhesive masking film is treated with a unique formula that attracts car paint overspray and also reduces flaking to allow for multiple uses during painting jobs. Very strong and thick that can easily be cut with a foil cutter. Car primer, base coats and clear coats adhere permanently. Ideal for protecting surfaces, furniture and vehicles from car paint, dirt, dust and chemicals.

Pre-taped masking film

CROP also offers easy tear pre-taped masking film. Masking film with paint adhesion and tape on one side. To mask various areas such as car windows, bonnets, one side of buses etc. Can be easily torn by hand (without a knife). Has static properties to ensure the film ‘clings’ to the surface.
