MIPA CX11 Air Dry Clear Coat

MIPA 2K-Express-Klarlack CX 11 is a clearcoat of low viscosity for a quick and efficient refinish, that generally does not require oven drying. Thanks to its special formulation MIPA CX 11 cures very quickly already at room temperature (20° C) and can be polished manually after only approx. 50 minutes. A more intensive polishing by machine is possible after approx. 90 minutes. It is therefore possible to save significantly heating-related costs. In the same time, cycle times are reduced since the painting process must not be interrupted by heating intervals.

2K Air Dry Clear Coat for all types of car paint

MIPA 2K CX 11 is particularly suitable for partial car coating and for spot-repair. Ready for use after the addition of hardener. This product provides resistance against all environmental and climatic conditions and yellowing and offers durable gloss retention as well as an excellent scratch resistance.

Air Dry Clear Coat forced to dry?

Do you want to force the freshly sprayed clear coat to dry by means of an infrared heater, a spray booth or other hot location? That's possible! At 60°C, it is already cured after 20 minutes and it can be reassembled after 30 minutes. With an infrared dryer, it is already cured in just 10 minutes!

Hardener for MIPA CX11 Air Dry Clear Coat

When purchasing the MIPA CX11 clear coat, we also recommend ordering the corresponding hardener. The hardener is necessary, otherwise it cannot cure. The mixing ratio is 2 : 1 (to 2 liters of paint, 1 liter of MIPA HS25 Hardener Standard must be added).

Do I need to use thinner?

MIPA CX11 is ready for spraying after addition of hardener, so no thinner is needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the shelf life of clear varnish?

How long clear varnish stays good depends on how you store it. An unopened can and spray can of clear varnish stays good for years.

What is clear coat?

Clear coat is a transparent lacquer that you apply over a colour lacquer. This makes a clear coat the same as a varnish that protects the colour lacquer from scratches, discolouration by sunlight, impacts, weather, salt and more.

How do you apply clear coat?

Clear coat is applied with a spray can or a paint sprayer. There are several ways to apply clear coat. If you apply clear coat, make sure you apply at least 2 layers.

What is the difference between clear coat and transparent?

There is no difference between clear coat and transparent. A clear coat is transparent, which is why this varnish is also called a transparent varnish.

How many layers of clear coat should I apply?

Applying 2 layers of clear coat is enough to have enough layer thickness. Do you want the clear coat to have more ‘body’? Then apply another coat of clear coat.
