CROP air dry ing clear coat is a special High Solid varnish that dries incredibly fast at a temperature between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius. Because the varnish is a HS clear coat, it has a high solids content which gives the clear coat more "body" and does not collapse. Because the 2K clear coat is air-drying you do not have to heat the room or heat a spray booth. This saves you a considerable amount of money! The drying time of air-drying clear coat is very short, which increases your speed and productivity. This also significantly reduces the risk of dust in your clear coat compared to other clear coats!
Air dry clear coat spraying
Spraying this air dry clear coat is done using a sprayer with a 1.2mm or 1.3mm nozzle opening at a compressed air pressure of 2.5 to 3 bar. Follow the steps below to correctly spray this HS clear coat 2K.
- Adjust your paint sprayer to a compressed air pressure of 2.5 to 3 bar maximum.
- To be sure, wipe the color, base coat or 2K clear coat with a tack cloth so it is 100% dust-free.
- Spray a first coat and wait 1 to 3 minutes for it to evaporate.
- Spray a 2nd coat of clear coat and let it dry completely.
- Basically, two coats of clear coat are sufficient. If desired, you can spray a 3rd coat.
Mixing ratio HS 2K air-drying clear coat 1 liter
The mixing ratio of the HS 2K air-drying clear coat is 2:1. This means that to 1 liter of varnish you must add 500ml of hardener. If desired, you can dilute the clear coat including hardener up to 10% with CROP Universal Thinner for the desired viscosity.
