SprayMax 2K DTM Primer Filler spray can is a special primer that can be sprayed directly on bare metal. 2-component DTM primer stands for Direct To Metal. This means that this primer has been specially developed as an adhesive layer of car paint and paint on bare and untreated metal. In addition, this 2-component metal primer also offers great protection of the metal against rust and corrosion formation.

How do I spray SprayMax's 2K DTM primer?

SprayMax's 2-component Direct To Metal spray is a spray that is easy to apply. Follow the steps below to properly apply the spray can.

• De-rust and thoroughly clean the damaged area with SPRAYMAX 1K Silicone Remover Aqua in Spray Can so that the parts to be treated are free of grease and dust
• Shake the can well for 2 minutes Remove the red push button from the cap and place it on the pin at the bottom of the spray can. Then press it vigorously and shake the aerosol can for two minutes to allow both components to mix and start the hardening process. After mixing, the prepared 2K lacquer can be processed for at least 24 hours. Depending on environmental factors (temperature) this can also be much longer, but 24 hours is guaranteed. (For 2K Primers, the guaranteed processing time is 8 hours). TIP: You can extend the life of the spray can by storing it in the refrigerator immediately after use.
• Spraying distance: 10-15cm
• Number of layers: 2 layers (approx. 30-70 μm)
• Evaporation time between coats: 5 to 10 minutes (let it dry matt)
• Dust-dry: 10 minutes at 20°C
• Can be handled: 50 minutes at 20°C
• Sandable: 2 hours at 20°C (Waterproof with P600 - P800 or dry with P600 - P1000)

Further processing:

• After drying overpaintable with standard 1K or 2K acrylic products
• If the 2K DTM Primer is oversprayed only after 3 days, the primer should be lightly sanded.
• The 2K DTM Primer is fillable with a 2K putty or 2K Spray putty after 12 hours / 20°C or 30 minutes at 60°C object temperature.
• For wet-on-wet application: with all 1K Basecoats and 2K Topcoat Systems after 15-30 min drying at 20°C.
